Acrylic Mounting is a contemporary method of displaying photographs: All Prints are produced on Kodak Metallic paper, Light Blocking (opaque) film is applied to the back of the print, an optically clear adhesive is then used to face-mount the print on premium 4.5mil Acrylic. The acrylic is then put through a sanding and buffing process that brings the edges to a clear polished finish.
Prints can be Flush Mounted or Float Mounted in the centre of a larger sheet. The Float Mount yields a clear “matted” area ranging in size from 2” (medium float) up to 7” (large float).
An information sheet for proper cleaning and handling of the acrylic material is included with all completed orders. Cleaning, polishing, and scratch removal kits are available separately.
Acrylic pieces can arrive ready to display by selecting one of the following three options:
- Drilled aluminum stand-offs that are mounted thru the Acrylic. When this option is selected the acrylic arrives pre-drilled and ready for installation.
- Hook type aluminum stand-offs that are secured to the finished edges of the acrylic.
- Installed set of aluminum hanger bars (top and bottom) that spaces the finished piece a ½” away from the wall surface. A special aluminum ZEE Clip, screws, and drywall anchors are packaged and included with the hanger bar option.
