Seeing, in the finest and broadest sense, means using your senses, your intellect, and your emotions. It means encountering your subject matter with your whole being. It means looking beyond the labels of things and discovering the remarkable world around you. – Freeman Patterson

Freeman Patterson is a Canadian photographer with a distinguished career spanning six decades. His willingness to continue to share his thoughts and insights about photography, art and the world around us speaks volumes about Freeman. His first books ‘The Art of Seeing’ and ‘Photography for the Joy of It’ provided inspiration to generations of film photographers and continue to be relevant works today.

The material covered by Freeman during in his VISUAL DESIGN FOR THE VISUAL ARTIST will be valuable to all artists working in visual media. Many principles of Visual Design transcend the specific media and relate more to how we see and create our art.

This one-day workshop will take place in Edson, Alberta on Saturday, November 8th, 2014.
